Hmmm . . . allegations, speculations, hearsay, and anonymous testimony.

There's more weaseling in this article than the Security Council.

Sadly, this is going to get very ugly as time goes by...even worse, his lunatic father is going to use this to further his agenda and this kid will never rest in peace.

This Berg sounds like a typical liberal, full of soft-brained thinking that doesn't take into account the fact that evil is very real.

He still didn't deserve any of what was done to him by these islamofacists, however!

I'm trying to be careful of what I say here - (This stuff gets picked up on google and yahoo more than you might think.)-but I'm reminded of 2 leftist Japanese "hostages",who got a lot of publicity, and cost their government a lot of time, money, and effort to free-but then wanted to stay where they were. The Japanese government hustled their butts home, and presented them with a bill for services rendered.

Do terrorists normally have an inventory of orange jumpsuits for hostage use?

I have a copy of the Koran. It's right next to my Tanakh, New Testement, and two volumes of Talmud (don't have a complete set of Talmud). Nothing unusual in that other than an interest in religion.

Missy, I am posting to you on this thread, because they locked the other due to it being a duplicate.

"I read his paternal uncle was married to an Islam and he was fascinated by her or something

You have it turned around. It was his Aunt. His father's sister, who was married to an Iraqi. She is now deceased.

Nick Berg went to Mosul to visit the Iraqi Uncle and while there met the brother of the Uncle and was helping him set up an Internet site.

Apparently not as well as you thought you did.

Berg Had Koran, 'Anti-Semitic' Book

As I said on the other thread: Why don't they just say "Berg had two anti-semetic books"?

The real tragedy here is the PARENTS who didn't raise their son properly. This appears to be one confused frisky puppy who valued money more than his life. His father should be ashamed of himself. If he had encouraged common sense and some boundaries in life, his son would most likely still be alive. Liberals are known, which his father surely is, for being irresponsible and lacking common sense as well as logic.

Turkey has a beautiful coast, and it is a relatively inexpensive country. Lots of internationals go there for a taste of "safe" orientalism.

Philly.com ping!!! You weren't posting there again, were you? If Limbacher had said that Berg was carrying around an equine cookbook and not the Koran, then I would know for sure...and how has Big Fat Andy been doing since his release last week? Has he been able to put some weight back on?

Queeran and anti-semitic books..

The books were 'cover' in case he was caught by islamo-facists so that they wouldn't cut his head off.

Sounds like this guy wandered into a terrorist stronghold without knowing the right passwords.

I knew it was suspicious that this guy was in Iraq without being employed by anybody. Hell of a place to go job-hunting.
