I was under the impression that yours was the land of the free; free thought, free voice, free opinions. Are you forgetting that movies are just entertainment, small snipits of time to forget more stressful realities. If you want meaningful dialogue and realism try Pinter, Miller, Chekov, if you want fine performances watch any British actor you'll always get your moneys worth. Brad Pitt is on screen what he should be a character an image, i don't know him off screen so i can not make an opinion. There are many other people of importance to worry about and make comment, save your disdain for them.
You are absolutely correct! This, my dear, is the land of the free! And, Mr Pitt and his wife are totally free to voice and spread their opinions. one way or the other. And....I am also free to express my opinion, one way or the other. I really do not care about Mr. Pitt's acting roles or his ability! Problem with your conclusion is that it smacks of saying, Mr. Pitt can say what he will, but don't you dare confront him. Hogwash! I'm from NYC, and if you poke me in the chest, you are going to get poked right back! I do agree with you wholeheartly on your point referring to British actors. I have spent much time in the UK and have savored the skills presented on the British stage, which I consider superior to NYCs "Broadway". Mr. Pitt, I objectively fear, would not fare well in the atmosphere of the white lights, having to perform twice a day, for extended periods. Again, this is just one man's opinion!
