"Opportunist."

Yup!

I wonder if Carrie has talked to all the *other families* of Americans who have died in Iraq? I bet not!

What did he say? "Yo, Mike, I know you're on my side and I could use your public support. When I'm elected, I'll demand an investigation of your son and possibly give you a job in my administration, but right now, we've got to keep the situation surrounding Abu Ghraib on everyone's minds."

be careful here folks.

as disgusting as this is, the Dems are not stupid. Other threads are running now about Berg, the Dems may have information that they feel they can use to put a spin on this - other then the anti-Bush rantings of his father.

X asks Kerry who are the foreign leaders who support him.

Kerry says "That's private."

Sound familiar?

"Berg described the Patriot Act as a "coup d'etat." He added: "It's not the same America I grew up in."

Me neither, at three score plus I can still remember when we were free.

At least Kerry gave the guy two days to grieve before exploiting him. That's gotta count for something

It proves he can count to two. It probably took them that long to get through the camera hoard on that's family's doorstep.

Yes apparently the father was extremely anti-Bush, pro-lefty for a long time. He probably works for the Kerry campaign now. I'm not sure what the unfortunate son's political stripes were.

I don't know...kinda hard to "spin" that video...I think that every time the father speaks and / or is spoken about, people will be reminded of what happened to his son...

"I think John Effin' Kerry should watch out who he associates himself with."

Yeah, I keep expecting him to appear with the parents of John walker, Jose Padilla, and whatever other homegrown terrorist he can dig up.

I got a campaign thing in the mail for Kerry. I am going to put a Bush/Cheney bumper sticker in it and send it back in their envelope.

I feel sorry for Nick... his dad sounds like a jerk playing his son's death for attention.

PHILADELPHIA, May 13 (Reuters) - The father of Nick Berg, the Pennsylvania contractor beheaded in Iraq, on Thursday directly blamed President George W. Bush and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld for his son's death. "My son died for the sins of George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld. This administration did this," Berg said in the interview with radio station KYW-AM.

Two days after the publication of a video showing the execution of his son by five masked men, Berg attacked Bush administration for its invasion of Iraq and its sponsorship of the Patriot Act, which gave increased powers of surveillance to the federal government.

Berg described the Patriot Act as a "coup d'etat." He added: "It's not the same America I grew up in."

This reminds me of the Wellstone funerally mentality. If that had been my kid who had been brutally butchered there is no way in hell I would be able to function enough to be talking to the press and making coherent political speeches/statements.

While we've watching the Dems pull some real boners, I'm not suggesting they are stupid. Just ruthless, hateful, and politically expedient.
