I'm preaching to the choir, but wretchard of the Belmont club Blogspot, gave a good summary of this very behavior tracing it back to Reagan's pullout of the Marines from Lebanon in 1983 after the bombing. In response, the bad guys figured us to be gutless and have acted accordingly. For full details, see the Belmont Club and especially read the article in April called "No More Groupement 100s." This is why we can run but cannot hide and Bush knows it.
