"SWAMP GAS" might seem to be a "simplest" if one didn't think much and hadn't read 100's of reliable reports.

But when one considers the physics of swamp gas and the specifics of actually 10's thousands of reports, swamp gas doesn't turn out to be that simple an explanation after all.

The same with virtually all the other debunker explanations for the authentic cases.

Occam's razor doesn't always work. Thomas Jefferson is famously quoted as saying, "Gentlemen, I would rather believe that two Yankee professors would lie than believe that stones fall from heaven."

These days belief in meteors is taken for granted. I'm still way over on the skeptic side of the UFO debate, however. You're entitled to your own facts.
