While I appreciate your continuing efforts to expose CBS's media bias...
I would also hope that, as a conservative, you would understand how airing the video of the beheading is "over-the-top" for American television. It is sufficient that the American people are aware of this horrific incindent, and it serves no valid purpose to broadcast the gory details. For that reason, I will not be contacting CBS as you request. I would consider such a broadcast to be in extremely poor taste and unnecessarily inconsiderate of the victim's friends, family and loved ones.

Yes I am aware of it .. CBS are hypocrites and I'm calling them on it

There was no need to keep showing those photo's from the prison over and over and over .. They report told what happen

It was "in extremely poor taste and unnecessarily inconsiderate of the victim's friends, family and loved ones" for the savages to behead this kid and videotape and make public the video.

On a side note: Chris Core, a local radio show host who is normally very wishy-washy and wimpy about things, has said CBS has an OBLIGATION to show this video.

Unless you could somehow arrange to view the video aboard a Maglev . . .

....understand how airing the video of the beheading is "over-the-top" for American television.

So was airing the prison videos.

The U.S. Army announced last January that there had been "cruelty and sexual abuse of detainees". The U.S. Army conducted a very thorough investigation and prosecutions were being prepared. The entire world did not need to see the inflammatory photos. That added absolutely nothing to the story.

The inflammatory nature of those photos created the media circus that the Islamists claimed was their justification for beheading Nick Berg.

I don't want CBS to actually air that video.

I do want CBS to be hoisted on it's own petard.

I agree - this is one of our your people and a grieving American family. It would really please Al Qaeda for us to air the video of their cruelty and spread their message.

Although I expect to hear the outrage of this tragedy - I don't want to see the video of the poor kid. Broke my heart to just see the picture. Bless his heart.

So, you don't want to nag them about the blood on their hands on just the off chance that perhaps they'll actually THINK next time?

They show the branch davidian building toasting those children regularly. They could show this if they wanted, but their guilt won't let them.

They didn't run with the prison story from January until they got pictures. With the American people, if there's no pictures, it didn't happen.

CBS is carrying the water for terrorists, and you've refused to even get mad about it. That tells me everything I need to know.

They'd air it without so much as a second thought if it were American soldiers doing that to a Muslim.

I agree - I also wouldn't want small children who happened to be in the room or turn on the television to inadvertently see such a disturbing video.

I do applaud the effort to show CBS's hypocrisy, and I feel that this atrocity (and Daniel Perle's murder, etc.) makes what went on at the prison look like a frat initiation, but I really don't want that video shown.

I agree. I also believe that the press today has taken to much on themselves and that we have allowed it.

Ever since Vietnam, it seems that we have been exposed to many horrific sights on the news and even in regular view just for the sake of "ratings".

They, as well as the print media, have found that this is the kind of thing that the majority of Americans respond to. Perhaps if we didn't give the dubious pleasure of responding, there would be less and less of it.

According to one story this is exactly what the parents didn't want to have happen.

"I would also hope that, as a conservative, you would understand how airing the video of the beheading is over-the-top"

Willie,

I probably agree with you but am wondering if, at some point, our country needs to be shocked back into reality concerning this war. Consider that a sizable minority doesn't believe that we really need a 'War on Terror' (after all, the Democrat party still isn't serious about it). Some event will eventually accomplish this sudden comprehension that our civilization is at stake here, but I suspect it will be a devastating attack in DC, NY, etc. The only question is how much worse it will be than 9/11.

I hope that I'm just a pessimist ... (lame joke alert)

Regards,
IndyMac
