Inhofe: They're not there for traffic violations. Our bad guys were misguided, even perverted. But he's also outraged by political agendas being served by this. Will share solicitation: "Over the past week we've all been shocked . . . response of Bush inadequate." (Kerry's fundraising appeal?) Doesn't recall that ever happening before. Asks that solicitation be made part of the record.

Contrasts US abuse to Saddam's "unspeakable" mutilation, torture, etc. Asks that account of Saddam's brutality be entered into record.

Further outraged by human rights groups crawling over these prisons while our troops are fighting and dying.

He noted at Rumsfeld's confirmation hearing that Rumsfeld would not kowtow or be intimidated.

My take was that these were seperate but there was clearly information being shared back and forth. Primarily as to the disposition of the prisoner. The respective organizations had their own doctrines that dictated about information asked and information given - but there was no wall.
