This entire thread is about a private business making that decision for itself. No government involvement.

I agree and am glad to find someone that actually stays on the topic the thread was started on.
I have no problem with Applebee's going nonsmoking as a private business decision.

Although I find second hand smoke to be disgusting, and an extreme annoyance since early childhood (both of my parents smoked, along with all of their friends and everybody in my extended family), I bristle at the thought of government imposed smoking bans. They are an assualt on liberty and are a form of attempted behavior modification practiced by the state.

That said, I am likely to reward businesses who choose to ban smoking with my business. That's a free economy at work.
