I originally got a scanner years ago when my Mom was on an O2 condenser. If there was a power outage I could listen to the power co. people and learn how long the power outages would be so as to make sure we had enough back up O2. I got hooked on them... they can be are real hoot.

Same reason here but more to keep in contact with the world around us when KV was down with pulmonary junk this past winter.

I respect the dispatch as they are able to guide the officers. Like if the person calling in a crime is around waiting and watching the dispatch gives detail on who they are and description.

We rarely had crimes here but in the past 2yrs sadly we have become the meth. capital of the state.

They get arrested but the courts give them probation and they re offend.
