[history]
Washington, DC, May. 7 (UPI) -- U.S. authorities have extensively considered the possibility -- or likelihood -- that Israel will attack Iran's nuclear facilities, perhaps this year.
U.S. analysts and government sources said the Bush administration has discussed the prospect of an Israeli air strike in terms of the diplomatic, military and security implications for the United States, particularly its military presence in Iraq and the Persian Gulf region, the Middle East Newsline reported Friday.

US won't condemn that action if Israel take it. I am sure!If it were to be the case, the worst case scenario would be a finger slap along with a nod and a wink.

"It would be intolerable for the Middle East if they [Iran] get a nuclear weapon,"I hope this isn't just a pondering thought that has just recently crossed his mind!

We've got to be careful with Iran. The people there want out of the mess the mullahs have made.
I'm for bombing nuclear facilities, but beyond that we should be fomenting revolution.

Bombs away.
Hopefully the Israeli air force has a secret program of mid-air refueling and a huge fleet of mid-air refueling tankers. Or a secret bomber program.
Israeli fighters can't get deep into Iran and get back! (Uh, right?) And ballistic or cruise missiles would be too imprecise.
Besides, then the US will still get the blame for allowing overflight rights through Iraq, or being controlled by the "neocons."
Just have the USAF do the job. Ideally, forget about a raid and just declare war. If a raid is all we can do, though, that will work, too.
Hopefully, our new UFO fighters will be ready by then. Ha ha ha!

Stupid move. All hell will break loose. Even Israel can't be that stupid or can they? If so, Armageddon here we come. Israel would expect the U.S. to help them too!

Washington Times, you need to be reminded of this very important statement at this moment. We are at War. Loose lips sink ships. Never tell any potential adversary of any possible contingencies, period.
This aint the "good old days" when the media actually CARED.

I hope the US does not condemn Israel publicly if it does take action. Oh you know the US will, but privately, they will be rejoicing. I am sure you know what is said publicly, often times differs from what is said privately.

"...Iran already has the means to deliver them to Israel, unveiling their tech last year, and magically the missiles range was basically the distance between Israel and Iran..."
You mention a fact that no one else is willing to talk about. The Iran of today, is not the same as the Iraq of 1981. The Iraq of 1981, did not have medium range missiles and WMD. Iran does. The Iraq of 1981, was also distracted by the war they were fighting with Iran. Iran, right now, is not being distracted by any other military engagement.
Even if Israel hits the nuke plant, Iran has chemical and biological weapons, which they can load on their missiles.
I think the Israelis need to consider this matter very carefully, because Iran is likely to hit back if attacked.

"Nautilus system shoots down Katyusha in joint Israeli-U.S. test"-05/07/2004 -
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1131228/posts
A long-range ground-to-ground rocket was successfully intercepted for the first time in an experiment carried out in the United States on the Nautilus anti-rocket system. The experiment was carried out Tuesday in New Mexico by the Israeli Defense Ministry and the U.S. Army.
Analysis of the initial test results shows that the system followed the rocket and destroyed it in mid-air using a laser ray.
The system has so far successfully destroyed 28 Katyusha rockets in mid-air, as well as five artillery mortars.

How about if we let them use a base in Iraq. As you point out, we will be fingered anyway. No Iran nuke is good for us as well.
