Not making excuses for what she said, just that she served in the military and knows from her experience this could not ever have happened where she served, at least not with "photos"! Now what gives this its most vulgar aspect is the fact that "photos" were taken in an party like atmosphere and there is no way typical military command would tolerate such.

The fact that no one is the least bit concerned or questioning how it was that so many photos were taken as well as "video" of what was going on is what makes the whole affair suspect.

Now who ever took the photos and then sent them to the media, knew darn well what they were doing....

That old saying a picture is worth a thousand words.

I think bringing up My Lai is the wrong way to proceed--it is unhelpful in the extreme.

I think Heather Wilson's Air Force experience is a world away from the MPs experience in a hostile battlefield--where casualties are piling up-- dealing with the worst of the worst.

I think technology--digital cameras, et al-- are the difference here. I think what the MPs did isn't a pretty photo album, but I suspect it is SOP when dealing with the Islamists. They shouldn't have taken pictures and had them distributed.

CBS shouldn't have covered this at all. And the Congress should slow the Hell down and be responsible, patriotic Americans.

That is my take--MS. Wilson should stop her bullcrap at once.
