I'm betting, though, that these guys never say the words "I'm sorry," even if they're in an accident or go to a funeral, or step on someone's toe inadvertantly. I don't imagine they're too much fun to be around..........just guessing though.....

My guess is the same. However, based on the vote in the House of Representatives, and a lot of comments on Free Republic, another guess is that they are in the minority. A vocal minority, to be sure. Perhaps one in which personal accountability isn't a major component of their personality.

So far I have not read one post by active duty military who isn't disgusted and outraged by the abuses at Abu Ghraib, and that is reassuring.

Excellent point, Cobalt. People in the REAL military are embarrassed by this behavior because it shows a lack of the discipline and high moral standards that they are trained to uphold.

It's these armchair generals sitting in dark rooms by their keyboards that exhude machismo in the safety of their own homes.

And you're right. They are in the minority...........thank the Lord.
