I'm sure they won't be satisfied, and will keep stamping their feet and screeching. If President Bush went on national TV and said "I'm sorry for having the audacity to be elected President in 2000!" and then stuck a shotgun in his mouth, the Rats, the media and the Arabs (as well as the I-Hate-Bush Brigade on FR) would bitch and moan about why he didn't off himself sooner. Nothing he does will make these people happy, and I think he's probably quite well aware of that.
But the majority of the public will now look at the craven little weasels in the Congress and the media pitching their hissy fits and say "Look, he said he was sorry this happened. Let's wrap up the investigation, punish those who deserve it, put measures in place to keep this from happening again, and GET OVER IT!" Naturally, the Rats won't listen and will keep screeching and carping and demanding resignations, and just as naturally they'll get whacked by the backlash for the umpteenth time.
