and that's the bad thing about this - we could have had the Dems setup on this one, with them going out there trying to argue that the entire american military should be thrown in the trash over these photos, from Rumsfeld on down. the american people have no desire to do that. But this likely precludes any counter attack on them now, and that's not good. I think that is what Rush is worried about.

Politically, if you are not on offense, you are on defense. I realize what you are saying .. But President Bush isn't going to play political games with our troops lives
They dems will .. but the President won't
They have a war to fight

To have the President apologize, does not mean that he accepts responsibility for anything. The act of saying you are sorry can be viewed in different circumstances. If you drop a rock on your wifes toe, then you would say I am sorry, to tell her you didn't mean to do that. You could also be sorry to see all the bickering on this thread. It doesn't mean you did anything,it just implies certain actions are upsetting to see.
I don't view the Presidents apology as a big issue,he has important matters to attend to and want to put the harping of the sorry media behind him.

I was going to type it but see post 199.
Bush's speech was more of a tribute to all the heroes who serve honourable in Iraq.
