I agree with you too.
The Prez did what he had to do, and defended Rumsfield. Now he will move on. He's not a hand-wringer or second-guesser like Clinton or Carter. Bush makes decisions and plows ahead with them.
Bush said the apology to Abdullah because he's an ally, but Abdullah also represents the moderate Arab populace, which is extremely ticked-off. The Arabs and the Dems will stay ticked off anyway BUT this may help move the Middle East peace process forward again with Abdullah's help.
I was hoping no apology was necessary but the White House obviously have considered its options in the situation and gone ahead. Now that the apology is over, back to winning the war on Terror!

Did any ever consider if the president wanted to apolgize to the Iraqis he would have done so yesterday in his interview with AL Arabiya Television and Alhurra Television that was broadcast directly to Iraq?
