How do we really know if these are Christians? Are the animists and local religious beliefs setting on the sidelines or are they also involved?
Maybe it is a conglomeration of non-muslims who do not want to be treated as slaves by the moslems. Maybe they want something better than Shiara law in which all non moslems have no rights!

If we followed you logic...then GWB is false to his religion and should have voluntarily offered the neck of the nation to Islamic slaughter and anal dhimmitude!

These nigerian militiamen are not merely killing for revenge but are defending the lives of their families and relatives. Jesus said to "turn the other cheek" in relation to how individuals are to treat one another in the name of Christ.
How-ever governments and ethnic groups of individuals(quasi governmental authorities) are looked at differently. They are charged to defend the nation or group and are given the "sword" as Paul wrote to execute law and justice amongst evil doers. The worst mistake the Huguenots made in France was to give up their arms to a duplicitous Catholic royalty.

I don't remember any part of the story talking about self-defense or a preemptive defensive attack. Sounds to me like a simple massacre over land claims by that other well-known "Religion of Peace."
