I saw an earlier Fox clip where Kerry was departing an aircraft and he stumbled like Gerald Ford and then turned around and pointed at something as if nothing happened or it was a conspiracy by the VRW. Nothing was ever said about his stumble. But the media played Ford's stumbles over and over and GWB falling off a "Segway" over and over.

The perfect word for Kerry's stumble: Strumble. I am paraphrasing the Sniglet definition, but it's something like:
Tripping, and then turning around and blaming it on some imaginary obstacle.
