I'll second that on the SuperMicro motherboards, and the Matrox video. But if you want FAST, dual Opterons and SCSI are the only way to fly.
Unfortunately, I already had dual Xeons and couldn't afford the Opteron changeover at the time. Next time.

one of these and it's unstoppable and utterly dependable.
Not cheap though.
