Well said!
On the 'Arnold' threads last year this attitude was referred to as "surrender-monkey" Republicanism.
The motto was, "If you can't beat the Democrats, you may as well join them."
Non-sequitur. Has nothing to do with Specter's RINOism or explaining how Republicans always alienate their base when they move to the left. Nice try, though...
However one who supports a less than conservative Republican can at least say that he is still supporting the party that leans conservative staying in power.
The ends simply does not justify the means here. How in the hell can you maintain "power" if Republicans vote with Rats the majority of time? That power will end up being muddled down and eventually relinquished to the Rats.
Anyone who says they would prefer a Democrat win cannot even pretend to care about conservative causes.
What's the difference if either Hoeffel or Specter wins? Both are socialists. If Hoeffel wins at least he'll have zero power in the Senate. He'll be a rookie, just one measly Senator out of 100. Specter win would spell the end of the Republic as liberal activist judges wipe their fannies with the Constitution and create laws out of thin air.
