UMass president Jack Wilson said Gonzalez's comments "are a disgusting, arrogant and intellectually immature attack on a human being who died in service to his country."

I've been wondering about Jack Wilson. Is he a typically liberal, politically-correct university president, who made his statement in hopes of minimizing the negative publicity for his university from the student's comment, or was he really upset by it? How have the faculty reacted? Are any of them calling for a vote of no confidence in the president, or had he sufficiently established his liberal credentials beforehand?
