Oh, I do hope that you can join us next "go around" .. I am hoping for a Midsummer get together. .maybe in Canton area.. early potluck/brunch at a park (I'll bring the bloody Marys)... First Ladies Hall of Fame & then dinner at Bombers Club(whatever) at Akron/canton airport.
Would like to expand it to as many WV, OH, Penn, NY, INd, Mich etc as can perhaps join us....It is always so nice to spend time meeting & sharing with FReepers..
I would be happy to be the hostess/coordinator this time.

Yikes! You two are living dangerously. Basketball with the guys? LOL. I recall playing basketball once.......once. That ball hit me in the nose and I decided right then and there that basketball was not what God intended for my life. I gave up my career as a basketball player so I could go on to bigger and better thiings. ohio, the back thing can be very painful. I think I've been very lucky so far in that I don't seem to injure very easily. Probably comes from being stocky. I'm solid and low to the ground. Ha.

Just drove through Canton Saturday at daughter's State Choral Contest.
Drove by the football Hall of Fame, and saw a sign for the First Ladies' Hall of Fame.
There is NO good way to get there from here. :o)

I probably shouldn't do this, but take a look........
ME, college yearbook, 1969. I was a basketball pioneer. :o)

Oh boy! A basketball star! How cute and athletic you looked. You must have been a glutten for punishment. Overachiever I'll bet, while I took the easy way out...cheerleader (boys). I love the "yesteryear" pictures of Freepers. It's fun to learn about the "formative" years and the things that went into making a Freeper.

Well, not EXACTLY an overachiever.
In college, I did as little as possible in most of my non-major classes (like biology! Yuck!) to get by. History, English and Theology classes I liked, so I worked harder in them.
I would have told my kids not to be like me, but fortunately, I didn't have to since they were all self-motivated and hard workers like their father. :o)
Music and sports. THAT's what I cared about most.

I don't think anyone wears those any more, do they? At least I hope not. :o)

Do you think either of us is up to a fierce contest of one-on-one at our next get-together? Naah, me either.
Mr. M and I are off to France in a couple of hours, so I'll see you all late next week! Take care.
To: mountaineer
Naah, me either. That pretty much sums it up. :o)
Have a great time in France, but don't pick up any cooties and bring them back, OK? ......hehe

Gosh I hope I didn't forget anyone!
Right after returning from our party, my current church project pushed me to overload mode.....BUT life is returning!!! YEAH! AND all is well!
So I didn't have a chance to say how much getting together with you meant to me....
mountaineer and Nan....I'm sorry but the award for most nervous photographee goes to ......ME!!!
Nan, thanks for all you did....please give Kathey my love~~~her son will be added to my prayers.
Enjoyed so much meeting Jennifer,
and mtntop, just loved talking to you!
To: Molly Pitcher
I know how that "involvement" can get out of hand Molly. Don't worry about it. We have kept this thread going for days as we think of things we forgot to say, so you're not really behind. I'll pass your message of prayers for Brian along to Kathey. Jennifer was very impressed by you and all the people who came. She would be a good candidate for freeperhood if she was not out in the country with a dial-up. We all had a great time.

Hey there Molly!
I wanted to make sure that you knew I never thought you were napping while I was singing.....
I knew exactly what you were doing..............the ears work better when the eyes are shut. :o)
LOVED the day.....LOVED the trip.........LOVED the wonderful company!

LOL. I'm usually the one with the closed eyes. I stopped apologizing for it long ago. I yam what I yam. Your song was so beautiful. Only problem was it called for another. Jennifer was beside herself over your voice. She is a pianist and plays for Jack's church choir.

To: ohioWfan
:-) Good then. I'm also such a visually-oriented person, that closing my eyes to listen to the music has become essential.....otherwise, my senses are truly overloaded and nothing really registers.
So absolutely wonderful to hear such a perfect and true performance of that song!
To: WVNan
Jennifer was beside herself over your voice.OK..........I'm trying to decide how to take this............. ;o)
Tell Jennifer thanks! I am thankful to the Lord for the gift HE has given me.
I will continue to use it to His glory, as I am able.
(I'll work up an encore for next time, too. :o)
