a weapon is not an everyday sight.
Spc. Melissa Zadakis, 19, of Mexico, Maine,
attracted a lot of attention from men wherever
she went in the city Sunday. One Kurdish woman
offered 2,000 Iraqi dinars (about $1.50) to have
her picture taken with Zadakis, and a young man
proposed on the spot. "It's crazy," Zadakis said.
