Destroying the city is not an option, he said. I have heard this from every single military analyst, including all the Fox generals who were right on about the war, so they must know what they are talking about.

And if the Islamist detonate some WMD type bomb in Fallujah like they supposedly tried to do in Jordan, and wipe out the city, who will the "Arab Street" blame?
Better to just wipe out these guys, and obliterate a significant portion of the city as a reminder to others, and do it fast.
