TAMPA, Fla. The parents of a severely brain-damaged woman at the center of a right-to-die case say her husband has barred them from visiting her. They are asking a judge to intervene.
The lawsuit is the latest salvo in the long legal battle between Bob and Mary Schindler and Terri Schiavo's (search) husband, Michael -- his wife's legal guardian who is fighting to remove the feeding tube that keeps her alive.

What a great idea . . . but I'm so angry and sad that Terri's mother will not get what she has wanted most, the care and custody of her precious child.
Pinging others to think about what we might be able to do for Terri's mom for mother's day. Praying for wisdom in all things, that this might comfort and encourage her, and help free Terri.

Well.....you know my husband always buys me something from my young son, because until last year he couldn't do it for himself. Why can't we do that for Terri? Or do you think it would be too painful?

Perhaps we could fashion a card full of prayers and other comforting sentiments from all of us here. We could start a thread (or something) so that we could post our greetings to her, and then print it out and send her a hard copy via snail mail. Open to other ideas, too!

A card sounds great but how about to if we all send a dollar to one of the freeper locals for a money corsage with the message for her to use it to buy whatever of comfort she wants. Walmarts my stress reliever. She might want to get her hair or nails done etc.
To: CindyDawg
Sounds great! Any locals in particular? FV or are there some others, too?

Not really. Probably someone with a post office box that has the time to take it to a florist or is talented with crafts. Any takers? You know getting a post office box for Teri communications might not be a bad idea though. We could send stuff for pick up. I don't think many want their name and address on a public forum.

post office box for Terri is a splendid idea!! I would be honored to pay the rental on such a post office box...providing it's a LARGE one :)

Thanks, Juan. If we can't help an innocent woman who's been handed a raw deal, what good are we as a nation?

The Schindlers are overwhelmed with emails, etc. I think doing a Mother's Day Prayer Thread for Mrs. Schindler would be nice. Anything more may be overwhelming. Just my opinion.

hi, fv -- what a great suggestion! Somehow that sounds just right to me, too. . . I'm remembering sweetliberty's pretty threads, ragtime cowgirl's graphics :o) something sweet, something special & loving to bless Terri's mom for mother's day.
I'll be back on later to catch up (I'm hoping!), I just snagged a minute here.
