6 small fires set by an arsonist today in the Twin Peaks area near Lake Arrowhead Rt 189. All were put out but that is a lot of set fires in one area. The AP article says it a little different.
Lake Arrowhead-AP) -- Six small forest fires near Lake Arrowhead were quickly doused today. Authorities are looking for an arsonist who may have set at least one of the blazes.
Arson also was blamed for October's weeklong Old Fire that killed four people, burned more than 91-thousand acres and destroyed nearly one-thousand homes.
This morning, some 120 firefighters responded to alarms near State Highway 189 west of Lake Arrowhead near the small town of Twin Peaks. The series of fires were each between a quarter to a half-acre in size.
At least one of the fires is deemed suspicious. Investigators say another may be have been caused by a faulty power line.
Last month, a controlled burn turned into a 350-acre forest fire in the San Bernardino Mountains and forced the evacuation of the Bear Mountain and Snow Summit ski resorts.
