P.S while you are voting for Hoffel, you should go ahead and vote for Kerry too.
W is the reason Spector will beat Toomey @
====
I base my vote on what I believe will best help advance the conservative cause.
A Pro-Life on Judiciary Committee, or Pro-Abortion..
Easy choice for one of the most powerful positions in the U.S. over the next 4 years.

Clue # One: There's a little know morning show we listen to in my neck of the woods (N.E. Ohio) called "Quinn and Rose in the morning" they've been reporting on the spector-toomey race. According to the show callers in Pennsyvania you see Toomey signs all over the place and with the exception of the few places Spectors'side has bothered to put signs up.....it's pretty much looking like a desert out there for Spector.....
Clue # Two: According to the same show, some union callers were saying that the unions are trying to organize a change of registration to republican to insure Spector's victory over Toomey in the primary "Since Spector has been a better friend to the unions than Toomey would be"). If what this Union guy was saying is true the Unions are actually ticking off more of the union voters instead of exciting them for Spector.
Clue # Three: When was the last time the Liberal media ever did an accurate poll that wasn't slightly in favor of the demorat "style" candidate?
Predition: Toomey wins the whole ball of wax by at least the same margin a Santorum in the 2000 election!

Specter gets the support because he's the incumbent and has been in the Senate since forever. Because of this, organizations that depend on Republicans will support him because they feel secure in his ability to hold the seat.

I've seen you on a number of these Toomey threads, fighting the good fight, and it looks like you're pretty new here - don't go away after tomorrow, ok?
Toomey bump. Go Pat Go.

It's over for Spector and pollster know it -- the undecideds are breaking for Toomy, which is totally consistent with an incumbent that can't break 50%.

I so hope you are right...Specter being defeated, even better, Specter being crushed, would send a clear message to all the 'moderate' (aka liberal) RINOs. Start being a good Republican, or stop being a Republican candidate. Replacing Specter with a conservative would help in all sorts of ways, but the most important is its effect on other turncoats like Hatch.
I want Hatch to get 'Toomeyed' too!

Boxer will not win. She has NEVER been popular in California.
The media isn't reporting CA as "in play", but that is because of typical lazy journalism that has decided conventional wisdom says California is a Democrat state.
The conventional wisdom of the media was also that Propositions 57 and 58 were going to go down in defeat, and Arnold turned it around.
Arnold has had no stronger political ally than Bill Jones, and Arnold will return the favor. You can bank on that.
And Arnold will deliver yet another victory.
And on November 3rd, the media will be asking in bewilderment "what went wrong in California?"

I'm not going anywhere..
...
Watching the local news right now.. Spector and Toomey ads, back and forth, every single break..
They are both going all-out today.
Toomey has an ad that shows him sitting with his family that has been showing lately, I contend that these are very good ads.
But I also think Spector's Bush ads are working well.
It's gonna be close.

dream on. Speaking of dreaming, Specter-phile, this poll must be a nightmare for you, KQQL. Even if he surives, Snarlin is so damaged by this he can't beat Hofenel. No way. :-(

I saw my very first Specter signs today, on a highway median near Pittsburgh. They looked exactly like the signs for a state senator in the area, totally forgettable. Contrast that with the very visible Toomey signs that are in every other yard... I think we might make it.

Most of time I have been and am right and sometimes I am wrong. Well, for the good of the Supreme Court and the long term credability of the GOP, lets both hope this time you were mistaken and Toomey is victorious.

"Ticked me off yesterday......I received a card from the NRA backing Specter. What is it about him that attracts the backers.....is there something about Toomey we should know about?"
Pat Toomey is 100% pro gun, and Arlen Specter has long been a friend of gun control. The NRA endorsed Specter because they think he'll win and don't want to piss him off, same as Bush and Santorum did. Betcha they're kicking themselves around now. Check this out:
"The May 2004 NRA members magazines endorsed the reelection of Sen. Arlen Specter
Heres what the NRA didnt tell you!
· In 1991 Arlen Specter cosponsored legislation to make it a felony to possess any magazine that holds more than 15 rounds.
· In 1994 Arlen Specter voted for the Clinton AWB.
· In 1999 Arlen Specter voted to ban the import of high cap magazines made before the ban.
· In 2002 Arlen Specter voted for Campaign Finance Reform to silence the NRA and all gun-rights organizations.
Look who's coming to the NRA convention -- and why!
Gun Owners of America has endorsed Pat Toomey for U.S. Senate"
And check this out as well:
GUN GROUP SHOWDOWN OVER SPECTER ENDORSEMENT
Dimitri Vassilaros: Specter's Smoking Gun
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:
Gun Owners of America makes the National Rifle Association look like Neville Chamberlain at Munich.
People have been known to sell out whatever principles they have left for politics. Like the Republican Party hierarchy and the NRA endorsing U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter over U.S. Rep. Pat Toomey in the April 27 primary.
The GOA prefers to stick to its guns.
"Specter has always voted for gun owners -- when we do not need him," said Larry Pratt, executive director of the 300,000-member organization. He describes it as a grassroots citizens' lobby for the Second Amendment since its founding in Virginia in 1975.
"(Specter) is the reason why the semi-automatic gun ban got out of committee and became law. He left the room so he would not be present to vote."
In its endorsement, the NRA said that "Specter has stood for America's gun owners and sportsmen to protect our firearms freedoms, earning high ratings from the NRA for many years of support for the Second Amendment."
Well, not exactly.
Takes a walk
From the July 21, 1989, Washington Post:
"In yesterday's vote, the fate of the measure hung by a thread as Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.), delayed by other business, came into the room just as DeConcini's proposal appeared headed for a one-vote victory. If Specter had voted with other Republicans, the proposal would have died in a tie vote, but Specter said he was not prepared to vote. Committee Chairman Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.) declared the measure approved and adjourned the meeting. After the session, NRA legislative director Wayne LaPierre accused Specter of 'taking a pass' on the issue."
The American Rifleman, a publication of the NRA, in a September 1989 story, "Specter Abstains in Critical Vote," suggested Specter stood still for America's gun owners. "Sen. Arlen Specter, an expected vote in favor of S. 1225, the Bush administration's crime-fighting package, and an almost certain vote against the gun ban, abstained from both votes."
And yet the GOA reminds us that Specter stood with President Bill Clinton by voting for the 1994 Clinton Crime Bill. That included the ban on so-called assault weapons.
Ridin' with Ted
"Pennsylvania does not need another six years of Specter," Pratt said. "Toomey's appeal to mainline voters on gun issues is very significant. Specter is outside the mainstream. He convinces them every six years. You will find him at gun shows this year, but after that, he is back in the saddle another six years, back with Joe Biden and Ted Kennedy."
And back to being anti-gun, such as in 2002. Specter, along with a few other liberal senators, voted against allowing airline pilots to arm themselves in their cockpits.
If the NRA is Chamberlain, the GOA is Churchill. Attempts to reach a spokesman for the NRA were unsuccessful.
Calls to Specter's people asking for comment only generated this official response:
"The NRA, the country's largest gun owners organization, praised Senator Specter for voting against the Feinstein Amendment in 1993 that would have banned certain semi-automatic firearms. The NRA is urging their members to vote for Senator Specter over Toomey."
The NRA must think that appeasing Specter will give gun owners peace in our time.

He deserves to be tossed overboard. Also Voinivich has gotten a few "I'll vote for someone else if you don't change your tune" letters from me!!!
