Well, in any case I can understand why the king decided to stay home.

If this is the rumored VX Nerve Gas that was rumored last week, it will probably be traced directly to Saddam Hussein. If my understanding is correct, only Iraq possessed that chemical weapon in the Mideast and never accounted for what happened to their stash. In related news, Tom Daschle (and JFK) are deeply saddened.

Last weeks catch said 20,000 potential deaths and this one 80,000.
Maybe the are separate incidents.

It's strange that this story is being re-born. CNN are also touting it as "breaking news". The reference to chemicals also remains vague - as if the chemicals are the bomb materials themselves. All bombs work by chemicals. Bullets are also powered by chemicals and kill via lead poisoning (at high speed ;) )

I sent it to Drudge. Hope it gets some play.

JORDAN FOILS HUGE CHEMICAL ATTACK
Jordan has foiled a chemical attack, linked to al Qaeda, involving trucks loaded with 20 tons of explosives that could have killed 80,000 people, according to the country's security officials.
Members of the terrorist network were arrested and others killed, officials said on state television.
Pictures were broadcast, claiming to show the chemicals the terrorists were planning to make explosives with, as well as trucks which were going to be used in a suicide attack against the General Intelligence Department.

After reading it, it appears that someone in the mainstream media just woke up and noticed the report from last week and pulled the fire alarm.

It's strange that this story is being re-born. I think it's a "new" story because the Jordanians just publicly admitted it via its T.V. Before it was more in the nature of a leak.
All bombs work by chemicals.
Yes, and I've seen nothing firm indicating that the "chemicals" were meant to kill by poisoning - what I think of when I read the term "chemical weapon."

You have to keep in mind that FR is a week ahead of the news.

This one IS NEW... Not necessarily... there are no dates given in this report... could be a new REPORT on an old INCIDENT.
Time will tell.

Sorry, when you said "last Sunday" I was interpreting it to be yesterday. I knew all about that one from a week ago. Communication problem. Thanks for clarifying, at least to me.
