Just wondering why there is no air cover to wipe out the mob while they are in a 'bullseye' group.

You beat me to it. It is about time that when something like this happens that a bomb is dropped right in the middle of these cheering crowds. After this happening a couple of times, the cheering would come to an end.

He said the owner and associates of the site were "suspected of supplying chemical agents" to Iraqi insurgents, but did not elaborate.

Very interesting.
God bless the loved ones of our fallen heroes.

I'm loosing my patience with this Iraq mess. I've been behind GW on this thing, but it is clear now we have a total wreck on our hands. We play nice and they kill us and cheer.

This new position on Fallujah is an example of GW being cowed by the hand wringers among us. They say we'll be hated even more and they'll turn more against us if we act to exact justice. If we do not show overwhelming force in conquering even the masses who cheer at the deaths of our soldiers then we loose. If it is a damned if we do and damned if we don't situation, then I'd rather be damned if we do drive them to extinction. Damn't Mr. President, fight them bastards and destroy them already, don't leave us a bunch of sitting ducks!!

"Chemical munitions could mean any number of things," including smoke grenades, he said.

If a smoke grenade is a "chemical munition," then so is a bottle of Tylenol.

Sounds like an set-up/ambush to me. I'd find the "informant" who led them to the place, and kill him.

I agree. If we don't make some bold choices right now, the oppurtunity may be lost for good.

Our President can't do much more than he has. These are the limitations we must deal with when we are making things up as we go along.

He could and should, IMHO, lose the current PC approach and face the situation in Iraq for what it really is - A WAR, not a peacekeeping operation. The terrorists have declared WAR over there. He needs to go back to the idea that you're either with us or against us and put the idea of "hearts and minds" on the backburner.

Afterward, dozens of cheering teenagers started to smash the ambandoned Humvees. One child climbed on a hood of one of the vehicles and beat it with a stick. Iraqis stripped the vehicles of equipment, one waving a heavy machine gun, another waving a U.S. helmet. One man sported military headphones.

A group dragged away one of the already burned-out Humvees, doused it with fuel and set it ablaze again.

And why are these people still breathing?

I was being sarcastic. This whole military campaign has been mismanaged from the start, and it's quite unrealistic to expect anyone to suddenly come up with a game plan that will work.

Every troop's life is precious, but we have over 135,000 troops on the ground in Iraq, with over 25 million newly freed Iraqis - the VAST majority grateful to our troops and wanting freedom.

A few thousand, a small percentage of seriously determined and twisted evildoers can do much damage - and they are dying for their cause.

It's there or here.

Freepers reaction to the current violence in Iraq is a win for the enemy and proof that we don't read past the press spin to the bigger picture - AP, Reuters and friends have been sowing dissent, emboldening our enemies, endangering our troops, deceiving the watching world with their mostly one-sided (pro-enemy) spin since day one of the war - before, if you count Saddam's accomplices at ANSWER and the attention they received re. their 'war protests' - giving France and Germany an excuse to back out of promised support in troops and $$$$.

The jihadists intended to murder over 30,000 on 9-11, and would have murdered millions.

Please wake up. We have no choice but to take out this enemy, and we ARE taking out this enemy....in spite of the press handing them their mighty pens daily.

I am really enraged by this Fallujah joke. We are apparently going to send our Marines to PATROL the city. As in, putting them there in the open to shoot and kill. Isn't that nice strategery? What are we getting out of this mess? They continue to use Fallujah and we negotiate and allow their terrorist activity and killing of our soldiers to go on. Incredible. This is so disgusting. I am angry as hell at Bush for allowing this to go on. This type of pc is looking like Vietnam. Mismanagement.

Agree! It's almost like we are saying "OK you win this one" and walk away while our equipment is swarmed by these robbing, fire-starting savages. Makes no sense to me.
