Which proves none of them were all that important. Except in their own minds.................

"require states to hold special elections to fill wide-scale vacancies within 45 days " BULL!
"When vacancies happen in the Representation from any State, the Executive Authority thereof shall issue Writs of Election to fill such Vacancies."
If Congress wants to put "within 45 days" into the Constitution they can amend it.

What do you say when a busload of 50 lawyers goes over a cliff into the ocean, and they all drown?

It's fair (meaning Democrats will be against it) and is generally incorruptable. Which is really the reason Demonrats will be against it.

I couldn't agree w/ you more. The underlying premises and assumptions here are almost silly. As if things couldn't get done w/o a handful of people who often aren't around anyway on votes.
These guys overrate their importance. They may be important to certain procedures, but not necessarily in the daily functioning of the government.
Besides, I wish all of them were on term limits.

Another, by Rep. Brian Baird, D-Wash., is a proposed constitutional amendment that would allow each House member to designate a replacement to serve temporarily in the event the member dies or is incapacitated in a catastrophic event. The replacement would serve until a special election is held. Leave it to the democrats to not want the people to have their constitutional right to elect their Representatives!

Cool headline.
In spite of the overwhelming temptation, I refuse to rise to the bait.
Nice try though.

If the one hundred dead are from the right side of the aisle-the terrorist win. There wouldn't be enough Conservatives left to block the liberal surrender monkeys from giving up without a fight.
