So now you're doing the 'it's our fault' argument even. Whose side are you two on?

I'm on the side of the Constitution and civil harmony. They should not have allowed this knowing not only how much it would anger those of other religions, but also how much noise pollution this would be.

But the Muslims being wrong on one request is not reason for those ignorant in and hateful of the religion to go around digging out select quotes and falsehoods in order to trash it in general. Why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye?

I'm an American and a Christian, and I think that as we have become less Christian we have become more vulnerable to subversion or attack by enemies both internal and external. An affluent, soft America that accepts sexual promiscuity, tawdry entertainment, abortion, homosexuality, drug and alcohol abuse, etc., is arguably (1) less likely to take threats seriously; and (2) more likely to attract the attention of Islamic religious zealots. This is not the same as saying "it's our fault," because that would imply the Islamists have a right to do what they are doing, or that I de-value our freedoms.
