Mars weather . . . PARTLY CLOUDY . . .
NASA - JPL - photos ^ | 04-17-2004 | NASA/JPL - Phil V.

Posted on 04/17/2004 9:50:03 PM PDT by Phil V.

This picture was taken by the front haz-cam on sol-082 by the Mars rover, Opportunity. The "clouds" are captured in all four pictures posted as of this date (04/17/2004).

Has anybody else ever seen reference to "partly cloudy" Martian sky? (It's a slow night.) . . . trolling for Hoaglandizers . . .

You say those clouds look like these clouds: Yeah - they do.

Almost make me want to move to Mars, except those pesky NASA off-roaders are already tearing up the fragile desert soil!

'Ya know, Phil . . . I don't think they've settled on a standard for a Martian calendar yet. All I can find are a bunch of different proposals floating around out there. And now I think that's all that earlier link was, a proposal. So, pardon me! :-)

BTW, here's a different proposal. Bottom line: I don't know what season it is on Mars right now, and I think I can forget about trying to find out by searching the web for Martian calendars, lol!

Can't fool me - that's S-4 in Nevada. Not that I've ever been there before - nope, not me.

I'm no meteorologist, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and predict rain isn't in the forecast. :-)

LOL

Let's be optimistic, and call it "partly sunny"! :)

Indeed! Sometimes optimism seems as far away as Mars. But it's out there someplace. Bring it home!!!
