And yes....Orlando has managed this thread well with info aswell as questions/comments.

Comets are fascinating in that their behaviour is constantly in flux.
Found this to be a usefull for understanding trajectory's.

1. Circular Orbit: eccentricity = 0

2. Elliptical Orbits: eccentricity < 1 The ellipse is the most common path that bodies acquire when orbiting another object in space.

Parabolic Trajectories: eccentricity = 1

Hyperbolic Trajectories: eccentricity > 1..Unless something of Mass is positioned near our Solar System to capture the comet and slingshot it back towards us...these Hyperbolic comets are *One time visiters....never to appear again.
