All right, I get why this "wall" that Gorelick put in place was so harmful. I also agree that this is yet another example of how incompetent the Clinton administration was in general.

But if this "wall" was such an obstacle, why didn't the Bush admin remove it?

Flame away, but this is a fair question.

To answer the question on why didn't Bush remove it? He did AFTER 9/11 when the Patriot act came into play, but it's just like to after the terrorists before the act occurred - CONGRESS WOULD NOT HAVE APPROVED IT and you have to remember that TOM DASCHLE's party stole away the republican majority in June of 01 so Bush didn't have the senate majority either!
