About 15 years ago, my wife baby-sat for a family in Centerville, OH. At that time, that family's kindergartner received instruction on how to deal with suicide (without any advance notice to the parents). At that point, my wife and I realized how far and how quickly our educational system was sliding.
Fifteen years later, we homeschool our 3 school-age children (11, 9, and 6). Best decision we could have ever made. Children will learn values from the people they are around. Do you want YOUR children to learn the values of people like this, or do you want them to learn your values? Homeschooling is definitely not for everyone, but infiltrations into the public school system like this really question what people should be doing...

You couldn't be more correct. Your decision to homeschool was a wise one, for your self and your children.
Even many private religious schools can no longer be trusted.
