false argument. Foreign countries build plants in our country to produce here, to compete here, to pay competitive US wages and they make good profit doing it.
But somehow playing by the same rules they do, you'd have us believe as companies cried to congress that they can't any longer make profits here so as Americans we're supposed to define "outsourcing" as - not going to another market to produce for that market, in that market and by it's rules; but, going there to produce in that market for the US market by someone elses rules.
Then you invoke the obsolescense argument. Doesnt' apply. My job didn't go obsolete. We were discriminated against for profit. We're being fired for being Americans. Somebody else has our job now. Really, you need to write new talking points. And nobody is saying to end trade. "free trade" needs to go. We became a superpower without it.

You are still here bitching?
Damn, for someone without a job, you sure have a lot of available time for complaining, whining and feeling sorry for yourself, don't you?
Maybe you should spend a bit of that free time learning some history. If you think the US became a superpower without free-trade, you really need a refresher course.
Finally, you were not fired for being an American, so put down the Union propaganda, and realize that you were probably fired for being too damned expensive.
And is it too late for you to accept that this thread was not supposed to be about you? Or are you just some silly liberal mining for Freeper quotes to post on your loser-guy blog about how we Conservatives didn't blow smoke up your ass?

Wrong! You didn't lose your job because you're an American, you lost your job because your company found that it could hire someone to do the job as well as you can, for less. That's just good business.
Is you company global, or just American?
How much did you claim to make...was it 30k? That's what I seem to recall you said.

Havoc you lost your job for only one reason, EDS has managed themselves into a hole, and outsourcing their help desks are not going to save them. It is just causing them more problems.
When the president of a company is having computer problems and call the help desk and gets somebody he can not understand.......Not good.
EDS's problems are bigger than the outsourcing they are trying and that is not working. Lots of people are loosing their job at EDS just due to downsizing. EDS's problems are from the top and that is where the blame should land.
