you might recall that...And I told them theres a problem, either you take care of it, or we will" :)Reminds me of when he was running in 2000 and said "they haven't led, we will".

9/11 question from reporter who takes that Bob Woodward quote Clarke had bandied about.
President Bush puts in context what Dr. Rice set straight last week.
President Bush grieves for and with families.
He looks back and in hindsight does wish certain things had been in place and that he'd done some things--but that is with the benefit of hindsight.
He thinks the hearings will show the Patriot Act is very important.

We have video and photos to prove we were greeted as liberators. What war were those reporters covering ?

Ask her if she feels some sense of responsibility for being a member of the vast support organism for The Nameless One, who left us vulnerable to the attack of 9/11.

Do you feel any sense of responsibility for 9/11? I am so sick of these people trying to blame Bush for 9-11. I'm glad he isn't falling for this "responsibility" crap.

Question 4 - "Do you feel any personal sense of responsibility for Sept. 11th?"
Answer - "I feel incredibly grieved when I meet with family members." In hindsight, would have done some things differently, mentiones Homeland Security. Mentioned the country wasn't on a war footing.

elizabeth someone: OBL not a central figure. Do you feel a sense of responsibility for not focusing on him?
I didn't have that sense of outrage at OBL. I was angry and sad.
We were stovepiped, via law for the FBI.
We were not on a war footing with an enemy that was at war with us.

there are so many good posts here; I just can't keep up. But as for this:
"when President Bush first talked about the WOT and said it was the call of our generation that it resonated with the people and wish he'd use it more often."
I agree. People feel inspired when they are asked to answer a call.
On Good Morning America this am (I never watch it but for some reason my husband had the channel on when I came down), they had a report about the Wisconsin woman killed in Iraq, the one with the two sisters also serving. They showed a family video from last Christmas; two of the sisters (including the killed soldier) said that they were serving because they wanted to give back something to their country that has "given us so, so much." The girls had their eyes closed; it was obvious they meant it with every bone in their bodies. It was very moving.
So, many young Americans are answering that call. I agree--the language should be used, and used often. It is very stirring.

Apparently this journalist hasn't heard that Woodward's quotation in the book was deceptive and incomplete. Must be she didn't see Condi's testimony. And maybe she just doesn't care because it doesn't fit with her agenda.

This is a thread about the President's speech and press conference. If you come here and complain about your troubles, don't expect sympathy here. It doesn't mean that people don't care, it just seems inappropriate in this thread. So when people give you some good advice to buck up and move on, take it.

Why doesn't the Slimes reporter direct that question at Slick, Gorelicker, Half-Bright, Berger, Shrillery, Koffee and half a dozen others who were supposedly IN CHARGE for 8 years prior?
