My dad had 2 silver stars and 1 bronze star, he had 4 small (nicks) shrapnel scars on his face for which he didn't get a Purple Heart...we didn't even know about them until he was about to die of lung cancer. Most Vets I don't think walk around bragging about their medals.

Most Vets I don't think walk around bragging about their medals.I think most honorable vets don't walk around bragging about it because they recognize that there are others who suffered more. It's hard for a person of honor to place their own sacrifice on a plain higher than that of others, even if they deserve it.
