Statue Made By Iraqi Artist, Won't See From Liberal Media

This picture of the statue below was made by an Iraqi artist named Kalat, who for years was forced by Saddam Hussein to make the many hundreds of bronze busts of Saddam that dotted Baghdad. This artist was so grateful that the Americans liberated his country, he melted 3 of the fallen Saddam heads and made a memorial statue dedicated to the American soldiers and their fallen comrades. Kalat worked on this night and day for several months.

To the left of the kneeling soldier is a small Iraqi girl giving the soldier comfort as he mourns the loss of his comrade in arms. It is currently on display outside the palace that is now home to the 4th Infantry division. It will eventually be shipped and shown at the memorial museum in Fort Hood, Texas.

This statue hurts my heart. Misty eye bump.

Too bad that it takes an Iraqi to do the job and not one of our own. Of course, the Iraqi sees freedom clearly, and our own do not.

Our "artists" are too busy making Christ paintings smeared with feces, or statues of Jesus in drag, or portraying Bush as Hitler, to waste their precious time on patriotic fare.

It's a beautiful statue.

First written up by 4ID's Spc. Benjamin R. Kibbey (Freeper Spc. Kibbey.)

The statue was recently moved to it's permanent location at Ft. Hood.

Thanks for the ping.

Much more representative of how the majority of the Iraqis feel. What the media does is abominable.

Right, except for the fact that the sculptor was paid for the statue and according to Snopes "he thinks the war was fought for oil and holds the U.S. responsible for the violence and unemployment that have plagued Iraq since."
