The key board warriors are at it again, so I will add my two cents worth.
It is easy to say what we would like to have happen, but the reality of politics kicks in. It would be great to bomb some of these places back to the stone age, but we won't. We will try to placate them, try to work with the local governments to give them some say in what actions we will be taking. I do think the ROE for the entire theater needs to be relooked. If someone is seen carrying a weapon and is not readily identifiable as a member of the Iraqi Police he is then a hostile combatant and should be treated as such.

RE:

HMMmmm; Could this be in response to the kidnapping and threatened burning of 3 Japanese Aid Workers, do you suppose?
Rather that pull a "Spain" and capitulate to the terrorist's demands to run away, might the Japanese perhaps have been allowed to RAMP UP their participation in Iraq in response?
Sure works for me!
I'll bet the Japanese could come up with some very creative ways to interrogate that vicious little reptile Sadir should he have the misfortune of being taken alive by them. Same goes for the ROKs.
Whatever became of all the Kurds who were moving in on Falluja?
Oh; that's right; we're not supposed to know... and that may be just as well, actually.
I wonder if a lot of Fallujians have been suffering from a mysterious but deadly epidemic of "Kurditis" lately?
