Not vaccinating is a religion - as indicated by her terminology. She "did her own research" - meaning, I presume, she checked out Internet websites. There are a lot more quack sites out there than there are legitimate sites, and the uneducated have difficulty discerning the difference.

The following sentences just jump off the page...

Arielle feels fighting off infections will only make her baby stronger.

But this mom feels her beliefs, even if it means no pediatric care, are the safest for her child. “It's better than getting pressured into getting her shots, and not being judged going in there."

This mother could be a Catholic. There is a Catholic exemption for vaccines.
