I had to laugh while reading this...the Leftists on the panel all dismiss the 2000 election as a factor in the Left's outright, irrational hatred of the President.

Why then will ANY editorial, article, diatribe, or even bumper sticker the Left squirts out mention the election fiasco prominently? All Leftists I know personally (admittedly very few), when asked why they so hate the President, respond FIRST with laments about 2000 (before the predictable whining about his "stupidity", his religious faith, his "oil buddies", etc.). It appears to me to be the FIRST thing their minds reach for.

Make no mistake...The Left thinks that it was robbed of something it was ENTITLED to in 2000. And we all know what Leftists do when they think they're ENTITLED to something.

The President could declare himself a total Socialist tomorrow and the Left wouldn't care...to them, if THEY are not the ones in power, it matters not who else is, even if that person advances their own agenda.

The primary importance that the Left places on the 2000 election fiasco is THE reason for the hatred. All else is simply their ideological sugar on top.

It's so terrible that so important decisions, up to the life or death of our civilization (and I hope to be forgiven for these high words) are so politicized, that it is more important who said and did things than the substance of what is said or done.

I argued many times, that if President Gore did ALL the things that President Bush did (lets do this mental exercise without arguing IF he would do them), we'd have no opposition to war to talk about besides some isolationists from the right that would be eagerly laughed at both by the Left and other Right.

This double standard is sickening, because so many humanitarian reasons for the war in Iraq are completely ignored by the Left who has these reasons on their banner in all other cases (Israel excluded, of course).
