Tammy--
Is everything OK???
I thought Dr. Rice did just wonderfully! I can't remember exactly who testified when, so don't know who you saw.
Kerry was an absolute a** to her. He started off with his own little "speech" about how he thought what was going on in Iraq was not what we should be doing . . . just totally off the subject.
Then a little later he had the ba**s to complain that Condi was fillibustering so she didn't have to answer his questions. He had asked for a TITLE of some memo--it was something about attacks on America--but then he wouldn't let her explain what the memo contained. WELL, she sure showed him, INSISTING that she got to answer, and did.
Kerry was just about exploding by the time it was over. (tee hee!)
One of the final guys (don't rem. his name, but a good guy) asked a whole series of questions, like, "Were you informed of . . . . " As I understand it was info the Clinton admin. should have given her. Her answer to probably at least 10 questions like that in a row, was "NO".
I think/hope/pray that the overall effect was positive; she did an outstanding job answering the hostile questions. And she made sure she answered the questions as much as SHE wanted to . . .

I loved it when Kerrey kept talking over her answers, she said "I was asked to come here to answer questions, and I'm going to answer"---and she did!
GREAT!

My take on the fallout from these hearings is that John Kerry is going to have to explain to disgruntled Americans that he is not, in fact, the Bob Kerrey that made an a__hole of himself today.
