Most politicians are cunning and streetwise, some are smart (i.e. Bill Frist), but many are really not all that bright. You are seeing a major-league all-star batter facing pitches from amateurs, minor leaguers, has-beens that never weres, and a few retired pitches who were in the show but had mediocre ERA's and no fastball.
