Between 911 and the camp david meeting, condi was with Bush a lot. Bush was concerned about the people, getting Wall street up, figuring out who was responsible, the safety of our country and prevent more immediate threats, etc. Because our recovery was so rapid, and the President's reassurances to the country were so powerful, most 'average' people have forgotten how devastated our country was on that first week.

"actually referring to Clarke's book, bringing fiction into this meeting is just stupid"
AMEN!!!
But then again when you're dealing with Congress Critters and the RATS fiction is fact and stupid things are intellectual "nuances".

Lee Hamilton got his talking points from Robert Byrd. NO ONE can possibly be that long-winded unless they've met privately with byrd-brain.

Condi bats the Woodward quote out of the park. She is fabulous and very nicely, very ladylike is kicking them in the groin. she has a velvet glove. And carries a great big stick. Am I mixing metaphors.

I don't think they have the ability to critically think for themselves. They have to realy on books, and not historical accurate facts that are available to all. Look at the information we as freepers get our hands on. Imagine the wealth of information available to this commission, shows their agenda.

Rice: What the president wanted was a plan to eliminate Al Qaeda.

The commission, the left and the media can't seem to get beyond Iraq. Not a big picture thinker among them.

Had same personnel as Clinton.
So, why didn't these folks (Clarke) save us from 9/11?

Anybody want to start a pool for how long before Clarke gets on TV to try and recover from this smackdown?
I say 30 mins. before she finishes testifying.

I really admire her demeanor. Kean's questions are puff balls for her, giving her the chance to fully debunk the spinning attacks from Clarke and the left. He has given her the chance to debunk the allegation that Bush was too quickly consumed with the desire to "get" Saddam. And she's doing it...in spades! An interesting dynamic, then. Sounds to me like the Commission may have the goods on Clarke, and they're getting something out in the open.

"President Bush revived the practice of meeting with his CIA director on a daily basis." Can it be any more clear to the mediots? Probably they will ignore that though.
The will certainly absolutely and totally ignore it.
