Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend your servant, John Thomas. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your own redeeming. Receive him into the arms of your mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light. Amen.

Dear Joe:

As a former Marine myself, I share your loss as both a brother of your nephew and fellow American. War is hell.

There are those that would pretend to share our grief, then in the next breath call for an end to our mission in Iraq. And to those people, best represented in the images of a debauched Teddy Kennedy, a face-lifted and phoney John Kerry, and the entire Monday Morning quaterbacks of the DNC, I can only thing of a five word sentance.

TELL IT TO THE MARINES.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost a 19 yr old son (not in military combat) so I know how tough this is going to be for all of you. Just take it one day at a time and be gentle with each other and stick together.
I will be praying for VICTORY for our guys in Iraq so that your JT will be smiling down on all of us. What a man he must have been. The best of the best.
God Bless You all!

Dear Sir,

This afternoon down here at Navy flight school rumors were circulating among the fellow Marine Lieutenants of the tragic passing of one of our own from the same officer school class, during the recent violence in Iraq. I was shocked to discover your posting as I believe it is the same Lt. Wrobleski from The Basic School, Bravo Company graduating class that I and nearly 50-90 other Marine 2LTs down here graduated with. I spoke to some who had been in John's platoon who told me he was the best infantry tactician in their entire group, and just a great all-around guy. We are all stunned and greatly saddened by this loss in our family of brothers and sisters in arms. Currently nearly 100% of those 200+ in our class are either in Iraq or are getting ready to deploy after our training is complete. His death serves as a sobering reminder to all of us, literally scattered around the world, of the ultimate price some of us will inevitably pay for the profession we have chosen; moreover, for the country we have sworn to serve and protect. May his memory give us strength and courage in the fulfillment of our duty, and our greatest sympathies to you and his family.

God Bless
-Another Marine Lt from Northern New Jersey

We came from different military services, in different times of national need, we never knew each others names but were brothers just the same.

Rest in peace brother, rest in peace.
