First, 'significant' doesn't mean a thing. Every soldier is significant in my book, so one or two could be the case.
Second, every Marine is a soldier first, so admin staff grabbing rifles is not that 'significant' either.
How long before Freepers stop worrying about breathless reports from the news, before they have any real facts? Does anyone really think that the MARINES are not prepared to deal with a bunch of thugs in scarfs?

My point is that our intel apparently did not prepare for this widespread spate of attacks. I'd hate to think that the low level of intensity over the last 11 months has let the airpower arm of our forces lose focus, as they haven't had much to do.
I'm not doubting that we will win the overall engagements. But as we are also in a propaganda war, losing 50 Americans in a day or two would be a serious setback, and would be used to evoke Vietnam, as the Swimmer did.

I can grieve for the dead and pray for the resolve of our country.I know the Marines have the resolve.
