The letter sounds great, but a little too great. It sounds bogus to me, a put up job, like those e-mails from before.

What are you talking about? This is completely consistent with reports coming out of Iraq. What's not to believe?

Yes, it's consistent - and yes, it's TRUE.

Gonna get a second opinion on it though (from my son in Baghdad with the 1st CAV).

Roche serves with the U.S. Army's 16th Combat Engineer Battalion in Iraq and is an adjunct fellow at the National Center for Public Policy Research, a conservative think-tank.

That's what he means by "put-up job". It sounds like it was written by an active Bush supporter trying to tell the story in exactly the way that would be helpful to the Presidential campaign. Everything the writer says is probably true, but the account is of no value politically because liberals will just point to the "adjunct fellow" title as evidence that the writer is biased.

We would do the same if a soldier wrote about how horrible things were in Iraq and disclosed that he used to be a Kerry intern.
