Actually, I am more then happy with 2500 Marines. Remember, more is not better. Send in too many and they get in each others way and we get lots of freindly fire casualties. Don't worry, 2500 Marines well supported by air and arty are more then enough for this job

The way I understand it the Marines only have to bite off a slice at a time. After they take each slice and turn it into unarmed civvies, a few EPWs and a few corpses then they bite off another slice. The last few slices should have most of the sh*theads in them which would lessen concerns about collateral damage.
At what point do the Sunnis mass their forces and fight effectively? My guess is never.

Excellent point. I think a lot of people misundertand Somalia. Less than 200 Rangers inflicted 5000 casualties with no armor and no effective air support. The Marines are going to kick a$$ and not even bother to take names.

Robin Moore wrote a book on the Afghan campaign detailing that less than 100 special forces did that set sucessfully(plus air power)...wonderous but these people are primitives...mash them like roaches...
