Which nation has reliable power everywhere, and tap water than you can drink anywhere? Mexico or Costa Rica?
A here's a quiz for you: Which country has a higher literacy rate, Costa Rica or the USA?

I agree with everything in this article. Every country has the right to uphold its heritage/ethnicity.
All illegal aliens should be deported back to Mexico. Period.

Cuba probably has the highest literary rate of the three.

I deeply resent the assertion that this country belongs to whites and anyone else is not a real American, no matter how long they have been here. I don't have a single ancestor who wasn't here by the Civil War, and yet I am not a real American to some here (many who cannot say the same) because my skin is not white.
I have greater faith in the superiority of American culture then Mr. Buchanan. I believe that the immigrants coming here are and will assimulate, just like they always have. This is not the first time immigration had supposedly "doomed" our country.

I did not mean for you to think I was questioning your intelligence. I think you're missing the point with my remark - you can't simply exclude data points from a data set and draw reliable conclusions from it. In other words asking about non-white first world countries and then excluding a large number of them from consideration is poor analysis.
I think Pat (and myself to a degree) fear that our huge Mexican wave will one day rule here the way they do in Mexico.
Even after a number of generations? Why aren't we ruled by old European feudalism and monarchism?

Don't know much about Catholics, do you you Cronos?

Regretably, Pat Buchanan discredits the cause. I think we need better immigration control, but this kind of racist language simply makes it more difficult to get anything done.

Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary 5 entries found for data.

datadatumdata bankdata processingdata structure
Main Entry: da·ta
Pronunciation: 'dA-t&, 'da- also 'dä-
Function: noun plural but singular or plural in construction Usage: often attributive
Etymology: Latin, plural of datum
1 : factual information (as measurements or statistics) used as a basis for reasoning, discussion, or calculation
2 : information output by a sensing device or organ that includes both useful and irrelevant or redundant information and must be processed to be meaningful
3 : information in numerical form that can be digitally transmitted or processed
usage
Data leads a life of its own quite independent of datum, of which it was originally the plural. It occurs in two constructions: as a plural noun (like earnings), taking a plural verb and plural modifiers (as these, many, a few) but not cardinal numbers, and serving as a referent for plural pronouns (as they, them); and as an abstract mass noun (like information), taking a singular verb and singular modifiers (as this, much, little), and being referred to by a singular pronoun (it). Both constructions are standard. The plural construction is more common in print, evidently because the house style of several publishers mandates it.
Coin toss.

Most latinos are brown. Those that come from Spain and are European are white.
Wooo. Now you're talking about skin tone. SO that means when we white folks go get a tan, then we are no longer white (since we've become Brown), so we're no longer Caucasians....
And the Japanese are white too....

since his speech at the Houston covention, which was a good speech that was blasted by the liberal press, Pat has taken it upon himself to make the media look good. I think he got off his medication can can't find it any more. Pat, take a deep breath and start again, ten years ago before you became the antiBush, antiChange man.

Why is he a racist? Because he points out problems with unlimited immigration?
As cyborg said :If he wasn't so alarmed why would he talk about Asians? If he is just worried about illegal immigration from Mexico, then why mention that?

Even after a number of generations? Mexico is a good bit older than we are from pre-colonial times. Cultural shortcomings die hard.

Much of this mass immigration is illegal. Vast numbers are coming here only to work. They are not assimilating. They do not want to become Americans.
And he goes on to mention Asians in the same breath when they aren't the illegals. Plus they're the better educated communities here. Shows how racist PAt is.

San Antonio has almost always been a Tejano dominated city. (Not quite, at the turn of the 18 to 19th century there were more Gringos, mostly Germanic...
That would explain why tejano sounds like polka with a Latin flavor...
