Hey Dane.
I never said that I agree with Pat on much aside from his culture war views.
I do not share his isolationist, trade, Israel or anti-imperialism views.

I have to run back over to my latest business. Car Washes get swamped on sunny Saturdays. I'm doing it all firsthand before I hire an attendant.
Besides, I love to go see the counters on big days like today...lol
First venture I've done in decades that has beat my projections....hoorah for Capitalism!

Fair enough.
Again JMO, but Pat's penchant for hyperbole and bombast discredits him even more.

these folks with a history of oligarchies and turmoil will turn America into the shining beacon of responsible conservatism it always should have been. All I see is this country drifting farther to the left.
Comparing immigrants of today to immigrants of old is absurd. 150 to 300 years ago, this country was basically a wilderness. People had to carve a society out of this with basically their bare hands. Clearing the land for farming, building a railroad system, starting of factories. (no welfare and few hospitals). Even 100 to 150 years ago had to be tough. Still no welfare.
These immigrants of today are walking right into a country who has the greatest interstructure on the face of this earth. To get welfare, all they have to do is ask.
No comparison.
To: wardaddy
REALLY? Please freepmail me about that when you have time. I just started my own business. I feel like a dotcom IPO since I've already made money without doing anything *LOL* GOD BLESS AMERICA (and free market capitalism)

Then why did you post it without a dateLink to F.A.I.R. article
Please place your cursor over the above link and do a left mouse click. The date is there on the article.
Now what do you have to refute?

I agree. Circumstances are quite different.
I have usually embraced a reasonable number of immigrants...especially those running from collectivist tyranny.
However, in 1965 (geez, so many great things came out of LBJ and the Dems of that period)....all of that changed....and now here we are....open doors essentially.
Now, when I tried to get residency for my ex-wife (brasil) back when we were married with 2 girls...the INS treated us like dirt and I had to pay about 5K to a "migra" lawyer.
Now, just walk in....get medical care, an education in your native tongue, vote dem, welfare....hell...who can blame them..lol

Pat Buchanan is a nut case. I cringe at almost everything he writes.

Wow I guess you pretty much silenced that student.Yeah. That shut him up. I was a middling student of WWII history, but as a youngster I'd seen The Battle of the Bulge (1965, starring Hank Fonda and a young, pre-5-0 James MacArthur) on TV, and never forgot the scene depicting the slaughter of our POWs in the Ardennes. I realize that the movie was hardly a documentary, but my understanding is that the handling of the execution was true to the facts.

Look Dane, my son has the Three Stooges marathon on AMC going on in the backround and they're making more sense than you.
Ref. post 399 again. I put a link up to the article and I put up a snippet.. The snippet was a courtesy since the article was fairly long. I've been on the FR one and a half years and many links and snippets are posted without dates and besides, if I wanted to hide the date, why would I have brought it up?
Now, explain to me why the President can't get his energy bill through a Republican Congress so we can start drilling in ANWER?
To: judgeandjury
I agree. It is the folks that are from Mexico that seem to work the hardest, I am sure it is becasue they are here illegally and will do what ever it takes to keep there job...

Now, explain to me why the President can't get his energy bill through a Republican Congress so we can start drilling in ANWER? He can get it through a Republican house, but not through an almost 50-50 Senate. 95% of the demos are against it and about 90% of the Pubbies are for it in the Senate.
BTW, the Stooges can do a better job of trying to pull the wool over someones eyes than you tried to do by masking the publication date of your original reply.
But your hubris won't let you admit that you were caught. Have fun watching your contemporaries on AMC.
